The third Beers and Badges event was our best one yet with the biggest turnout to date. The local meta continues to grow with a variety of types on display, but our top performers of the month are familiar faces.

1st Place - Psychic Dragapult

Record - 3-0

Trainer - Payton

Psychic continues to dominate the local scene. Payton’s list is the pillar of consistency having multiple points of attack allowing it to easily pivot to different game plans due to prizing. With an unchanged list, Payton took home 1st place claiming the title of Psychic Gym Leader for now.

2nd place Psychic Lost Zone

Record: 2-1

Trainer: Teddy C.

Psychic Lost zone fell short to its counterpart this week as prizing key cards proved costly in the mirror. Teddy has dubbed himself Payton’s “Gary” and hopes to reclaim at least a share of the Psychic Gym Leader in the coming weeks. Teddy’s list is mostly unchanged, however, he opted to play Switch Cart over Bursting Balloon due to the recent rule changes in the Pokémon TCG.

3rd place - Flying HitmonBros

Record: 2-1

Trainer: Jeff B.

HitmonBros continues to struggle against Psychic, coming up just short in the matchup against Payton’s Psychic Dragapult List. “Bench Barrier” Mew remains the biggest obstacle for the fighting Bros begging the question, “should I be playing Hex Maniac alongside Silent Lab?”.
