Much was at stake in the Season 1 finale of our Beers and Badges series. With eight different types on display, our trainers stuck to their strengths hoping to take home a coveted gym badge and the bragging rights of being the best trainer of their respected type. Here's how the night played out.
1st place Psychic Lost Zone
Record: 3-0
Trainer: Teddy C.
Teddy literally scratched his way to victory claiming the top spot of the night and the role of Psychic Gym Leader. In his final round, Teddy was forced to improvise using rarely used attacks in the form of Sableye´s Scratch and Comfey´s Spinning Attack to take down a Snorlax that could not be affected by his damage counter-based attacks.
2nd place - Colorless Archeops
Record: 2-1
Trainer: Lucas Snyder
Snyder took down Metal and Dark before falling to Psychic Lost Zone. Clattering in with big basics and powering them up with Archeops, Snyder was able to apply continuous pressure in his first two matches leading to victory. Failing to get off the mark in his final match proved costly, as Snorlax on his own was not enough to take down the Psychic menace.
3rd Place - MetalZone
Record: 2-1
Trainer: Nicky W
Nicky slammed his foot on the gas this week with his streamlined Metalzone deck. Using Revaroom´s Rumbling Engine ability to good effect, Nicky kept his hand full as he tanked and dished out hits with Orthworm and Zamazenta. With his only loss to Colorless Archeops, he took advantage of some poor draws by his fire opponent in the final round to take 3rd place and sole possession of the Metal Gym Leader title.
Beers and Badges Season 2
Season 2 of Beers and Badges event will begin on Thursday, September 21 at 7:00pm at Hunter Gatherer Brewery and Taproom.
